Barcelona - Spain

Until now I've been here for two times. The first time was short (only 2 days) , the second time for 4 days.

It's definitely a nice, vibrant, young city. What the city also makes it attractive is, it's a city for a diverse

audience. You will find the real city tripper but also a holidaymaker who likes to see some things of the city

and want to relax some time.

If you arrive by plane at Barcelona El Prat airport (T1- low cost airliners / T2 – all other airliners), so watch

out when heading back home.

To get to the city center there are multiple ways. You can get the Aerobus (6€) . But since beginning of

2016 they opened a new subway line. So you can take this with one transit to the city center.

(40 min).

So you can save money on transportation when you buy the Barcelona Card, because the subway is included

in this card. And you can get access to some museums of discount to some attractions.

The classic thing to visit are off course the Gaudi things,

there are 6 of them .

  * Sagrada Familia

  * Park Güell

  * La Pedrera ( Casa Mila )

  * Casa Batlló

  * Palau Güell

  * Casa Vicens

For some of them you can buy your tickets already online (so you save time). The only disadvantage is,

you have to give up an hour when you want to visit this.

But there are also many other things to visit of course.

  * The old city center

  * The Rambla

  * La Catedral in the old city

  * Food market on the Rambla

  * Museu Picasso

  * Montjuïc hill

  * .........

To get a nice panoramic view over the city , you will find multiple solutions . My personal favorites are Bunkers

El Carmel and Tibidabo .

Tibidabo is actually an old theme park on top of the hill in the west side of the city. Its actually very easy to

get there.

Take the metro line S1 or S2 at Placa de Catalunya to Peu del Funicular. From here you take the Funicular to the top. At the top of this hill you can take a 30min walk to the park of take bus 111 to there.

For Bunkers El Carmel you have to walk up a little bit. But its definitely worth it. Take the subway to Alfons X , from there you will look for a top and just walk up to there . You can' t overlook it.

The funny part of this one is , there are not so many tourists .
